The way Narma suddenly collapsed shocked everyone and diverted their attention away from Omar. They rushed to her side and began shaking her, but she wasn’t even breathing.

Panic spread among them. They quickly carried Narma and rushed her to the hospital.

Sen was filled with unbearable anger. He felt like going after Omar, grabbing him by the neck and killing him so that everyone could finally have peace.

Anyone who looked at their faces could easily tell that none of them were in a good mood. Their hearts were heavy with anger over what had happened.

Later that night, Narma finally opened her eyes. She looked at her parents sitting beside her and then at her siblings standing nearby.

In a weak voice she asked,

“Dad… has Faruk gone?”

Her words made them realize she had regained consciousness, and they all turned to look at her.

Sen clicked his tongue angrily and walked out of the room without saying anything. If he stayed any longer, he didn’t know what he might end up doing to her.

Her mother walked closer, held her hand, and said gently,

“Narma, stop talking about that. Let’s go home later. Right now you’re lying in the hospital.”

Narma replied softly,

“Mum… if I lose him, I will die.”

Her mother became angry, but she tried not to show it.

“I told you to keep quiet, didn’t I?” she said firmly.

Narma remained silent, remembering everything that had happened. Her head felt very heavy.

Not long after, they decided to return home since none of them felt at ease staying in the hospital. Seeing that Narma was already stable, they left for the house.

No one spoke to her. Everyone went to their rooms to rest. She too lay down—not because she wanted to sleep, but because she had no choice.

Later, Mum went to see Sen and found him standing near the window while talking on the phone.

He was saying angrily,

“Do whatever you have to do. If it were up to me, I would send him directly to prison. I don’t want any delays.”

The voice on the other end replied,

“Calm down, Sen. You can’t just send someone to prison without a clear crime.”

Furiously he replied,

“Didn’t I tell you he attacked me in my own house?”

“That alone is not enough to put someone in prison for life. The court must decide the judgment.”

Sen said impatiently,

“I don’t want any long process. So what can we do now?”

The man replied,

“Leave everything to me. I’ll frame him with something he won’t escape from. Your name will never come up in it. We’ll plant cocaine on him and release him. Once he’s on the street, we’ll alert the NDLEA to arrest him. After they arrest him, I’ll handle the rest and send him to court. From there he’ll be sentenced as a drug trafficker. That way your name won’t appear anywhere.”

Sen hissed angrily and said,

“Listen… lock him somewhere first. Make sure he is beaten so badly that he won’t even be able to raise his hands. Beat him until he can’t tell whether he’s in this world or the next. Make sure he can’t even move a finger.”

“As for the other two, let them go. I want them to deliver a message: Tiger will never return to Kano again.”

After saying that, he ended the call and turned to see Mum staring at him.

She spoke angrily:

“I warned you from the beginning not to let our daughter associate with that thug, but you refused to listen. You even believed he would do things for you that the authorities wouldn’t do.”

“Now look at what you’ve brought upon us. This is a huge disgrace to this family. A man like him came all the way to this house saying he wants our daughter, and because you entertained him he now thinks he’s equal to us.”

Sen replied quietly,

“I made a mistake. I didn’t expect things to turn out like this. But now I will fix everything.”

She snapped back,

“Even if you fix it, the damage has already been done. A boy came into our house arguing with you like he was your equal. Then he looked you in the face and said he wants to marry your daughter. What humiliation could be worse than that?”

Sen remained silent. Only he knew the burning anger in his heart.

Mum continued,

“And what are we going to do about Narma now? I’m sure he has done some charm or spell on her. Since he managed to ride in a car alone with her, maybe he did something to make her become this obsessed with him.”
