Her health condition is a complicated one. No matter how much she tries to live freely and enjoy life, her health always stands in her way. This is because she is someone who truly loves life—enjoyment, friends, modern living, and happiness.

From our primary school days, whoever Mufeeda liked wanted to be friends with her. Even now that we are grown young women, life is still the same for her.

I have become like an old woman, or a mother, because of the constant prayers and jealousy I feel toward my sister who has been consuming my heart since we were little. Now my heart is filled with both jealousy and love for my sister—but what I don’t know is which is stronger in my heart: the love or the jealousy?

Which one will overpower the other within me? Because now I am beginning to fear how she already separates me from life—what will she take away from me in the future?

Will I be able to endure if my love for her overcomes my jealousy and the pain it brings? Or will jealousy overpower the love I have for her?

With a long sigh, Dr. Fatima interrupted her by handing her some medication along with a glass of water, saying:

“It’s time for a break, Hameeda.

Go and rest—we’ll continue next time.

Don’t forget, whenever you feel pain in your heart about this, you can always come and see me.

I’m always here for you, and always ready to listen to you, okay?”

She nodded, breathing deeply again as she slowly drank the water before placing the glass down. Looking at Dr. Fatima, she softly said:

“Thank you, Miss Yonas.”

Dr. Fatima smiled, gently holding her hand, and said:

“When I get home, I’ll come to check on you.

Don’t let the devil come between you and the love you have for your sister.

You are the one who should love and care for her more than anyone else in the world, because you are her twin.”

She nodded again and stood up, saying once more:

“Thank you.”

She picked up her handbag and phone from the table, stood up, walked to the door, and left.

Dr. Fatima let out a deep breath, feeling deep sympathy for Hameeda. The jealousy she felt toward her sister had deeply wounded her heart, sometimes even turning into intense hatred toward her sister. This was what made Dr. Fatima start paying closer attention to Mufeeda, encouraging her to always express her worries. This helped Mufeeda greatly, as she felt relieved whenever she did so. After treatment, she would go home and fall asleep, and upon waking, her heart would feel lighter.

Dr. Fatima Omar Yonas is their neighbor and also a consultant in psychology and human behavior. She is the type of doctor who can discover what is troubling a person simply by observing how they respond to questions, even when the person themselves doesn’t fully understand their problem.

She is originally from Ethiopia. Her husband passed away long ago, leaving her with two children—a son and a daughter: Ameed and Meena.

Ameed is a young man who is also a doctor. He hasn’t been practicing for long—less than a year. He is fashionable, handsome, wealthy, and enjoys a luxurious and modern lifestyle. That is why there is no one he loves in this world more than Mufeeda, whom her friends often call FIFI MANDE.

Ameed deeply loves Fifi, but she sees him only as a friend and a brother. This is because Dr. Fatima has become like a mother to them. The care and affection Dr. Fatima shows Fifi makes her see her as her own mother, and she often pampers her—especially whenever Fifi’s illness worsens. At such times, everyone becomes worried, even people in Nigeria. Dr. Fatima would stand firmly by her side in the hospital, just like a real mother.

Meena also has no friend closer to her than Fifi, which is why they are almost always together, especially when going out for leisure. Hameeda, however, does not join them.

In the world, aside from her father, there is no one Fifi loves more than her sister Hameeda, whom she sees as both a mother and a sister.

The love she has for Hameeda is the kind only Allah Himself could remove from her heart—especially because she knows she may not live long due to her illness.

She enjoys life and entertainment because she believes she may not have much time in this world. That is why she holds no grudges and carries no worries in her heart—everyone belongs to her, because one day she may no longer be here.

She is someone who truly loves life. If Allah were to grant her a long life and marriage, there is absolutely nothing that would stop her from marrying someone like Ameed. Any man who is not modern, does not understand Western-style living, gaming, fitness, muscles, and abs—she simply could not marry such a man. Her husband must be someone like her, not more than three to four years older than her, and at most five years. Someone close to her age would understand the joy of life, allowing them to live freely and happily together—before death eventually separates them.
