When the date was fixed for her wedding to Sadiq and only ten days remained before the ceremony, Sadiq passed away. Safna found herself in a terrible situation that she could hardly describe. She only managed to recover through intense prayer and by surrendering her affairs to Allah. With time, she gradually regained herself, accepted her fate, and moved on.

After some time, she met Lukman. At first, she refused to give him a chance, but later she accepted him and they began a relationship. In a short while, they became very close, and eventually he sent his elders to begin marriage discussions. The bride price and everything required for the marriage were brought, and what remained was fixing the wedding date. His parents asked for some time to complete their preparations before the date would be set. Then suddenly, Lukman himself came and said he no longer wanted to marry her, and he even said she could keep everything they had brought. At that time, Safna almost lost her mind because she had fallen deeply in love with Lukman, even more than she had loved Sadiq. What troubled her most was that he refused to explain why he had withdrawn.

Safna had beauty, education, good family background, calmness, and good upbringing. She lacked nothing, yet destiny seemed to make marriage difficult for her. It was very hard for her to endure Lukman’s absence, and it almost pushed her into a terrible state. She nearly developed heart problems, high blood pressure struck her despite her young age, and she also suffered from insomnia and severe ulcer due to refusing food. They kept taking her to the hospital until, with difficulty, she finally recovered and accepted it. From that time on, she gave up on love matters completely. At one point, when her elder sister, Aunty Maryam, gave birth and they gathered for the baby’s naming ceremony, a conflict broke out between her husband’s relatives and her own family. The chaos caused great tension, and some women began collapsing to the ground as if possessed by spirits. Among them was Safna, who also collapsed and stopped breathing as though she were dead. Everyone panicked, and it was only with great difficulty that the situation was brought under control. But as for Safna, she remained in a disturbed state for two days, not knowing herself, while ruqyah and incense treatment were performed on her. During this process, the spirit eventually spoke and confirmed that it was the one causing problems in her marriage matters. It said that even in Sadiq’s case, it had been behind the tragedy, and that it was not because it intended to marry Safna itself, but because it would not allow any man to come near her. It was only with difficulty that it finally left and she regained consciousness.

Once they understood where the problem lay, and Safna herself realized that she truly had an issue—especially considering her frequent dreams of water, flying, snakes, and fighting strange beings—she explained everything to the Islamic healer performing ruqyah for her. He assured her that, God willing, she would recover, and he gave her medicine to begin using. Alhamdulillah, that became the path to Safna’s healing. For two years, she continued treatment, and it was successful. By the age of twenty-four, Allah had made it possible for her to begin paying attention to suitors again. When she saw that circumstances seemed determined to deny her peace, she decided that Zayyad would be the one she would marry, even though she did not truly love him. Still, his love for her overwhelmed her so much that she could not ignore him, especially because of how deeply he also loved her.
