ENGR. YUSUF MUHAMMAD INUWA came out of the mosque in front of his house around six o’clock in the morning. As usual, he stopped to perform his azkar (remembrance of Allah) and recite some prayers. After that, he would pause briefly to greet people. Although the neighborhood belongs to his family, there are also honorable and respectable people living there. While not everyone meets everywhere, the heads of households gather for Fajr (dawn) prayers at the mosque. Some can only be seen at dawn because of work. People like Engineer Yusuf, who have many engagements, rarely stay home even on weekends, since he doesn’t work for the government. He is self-employed and has been independent since his youth.

At around 42 years old, Engineer Yusuf is a tall man, walking slowly from the mosque to his house since it is nearby. He is dressed in a well-made black jallabiya, neat and freshly ironed, with a black cap, and carrying a tasbih (prayer beads) in his hand. He is a tall man with a commanding presence. At first glance, you can tell he is Fulani because of his fair complexion, and the shape of his head reveals his identity, even though he does not have traditional Fulani markings. His face is not long but slightly broad; his long nose adds to his elegance and dignified appearance.

He heads toward a well-kept house in the Lodge Road neighborhood. The house is located by the road, as most houses in the area are built with concrete slabs. The architectural style of the house shows attention to detail, and from the outside, one can tell it is not a new house. However, it looks refreshed—the black gate has been polished recently, and the greenish exterior paint appears freshly done. He reaches the gate, puts his hand into the pocket of his jallabiya to take out the key, opens the gate, enters, and closes it behind him. The veranda is small, fitting one to two cars. A black Toyota C-HR is parked there, and the veranda is decorated with beautiful flowers emitting fragrance. The inner door leading to the house is locked; he uses his key to open it, enters, and locks it behind him.

The main living room is immediately visible. It is quiet, with no disturbance from the furniture except for the large tibi (perhaps a decorative carpet) at the center and the middle table. The living room is spacious, and to the right is a dining area for five people. The room is decorated in bright golden yellow, including the curtains that run around the living room.
