Baqar Mace Part 1 Complete Hausa Novel

"Oh, come on, Farouq, try to understand me! Why can't you open your eyes and see what I'm trying to tell you? I'm not ridiculing her, I just want you..." Farouq stopped him by placing his hand over his lips. Farouq said, "Ishaq, if you won't support me on this girl, then, by God, leave me alone." Ishaq said, "I really don't see what you see in this BLACK WOMAN!

"Oh, come on, Farouq, try to understand me! Why can't you open your eyes and see what I'm trying to tell you? I'm not ridiculing her, I just want you..."

Farouq stopped him by placing his hand over his lips.

Farouq said, "Ishaq, if you won't support me on this girl, then, by God, leave me alone."

Ishaq said, "I really don't see what you see in this BLACK WOMAN! She's BLACK and ugly. Honestly, I can't figure this girl out. And what annoys me most is how she acts so aloof, like she's some beauty."

Farouq turned with his big eyes and said, "Aloofness is a good thing. Any woman who isn't aloof isn't really a woman."

Ishaq patted Farouq's shoulder and said, "Farouq, for God's sake, look at yourself. Look at what God has blessed you with. But you can't find anyone you say you love except this BLACK creature. A BLACK WOMAN! Look at how beautiful, classy women desire you. Some of them are even crying for your love while some are begging. But you don't see any of that. You can't find anyone to be with except this BLACK WOMAN."

Farouq pushed Ishaq's hand off his shoulder and said, "She's the one without class. Any woman clinging to a man has no class."

Ishaq said, "But it's not forbidden, because our Prophet said a woman has the right to tell whoever she loves that she loves him. It's just that in this era we live in, people have made it into something different."

Farouq said, "What you're saying is true, but you also know that nowadays, if a woman tells you she loves you, you look down on her. Honestly, don't bore me with any more nonsense. Just find me an idea on how I can win Farida over."

Ishaq laughed and said, "Now, honestly, won't you be ashamed to introduce her among our friends? Look at yourself! There's no aspect God has left you lacking in. But you can't find anyone..."

Farouq said, "Oh, please, just shut up. How can I be ashamed to introduce what I love? If you think I'll be ashamed to introduce Farida after marrying her, then you are mistaken, because if there's anything I love dearly, it's Farida. And nothing will stop me from introducing her to my friends and anyone else who deserves to know her. If you think otherwise, then it's better you stop."

Ishaq said, "You're right, but I..."

Farouq said, "My dear, please kindly get out of my room!"

He took Ishaq's hand and escorted him out of the room, then closed the door and went back to lie on the bed. As soon as he closed his eyes, he began to think of Farida. He prayed silently, asking God to make Farida start loving him, just as he loved her. With this thought, he fell asleep.

MEENATU DMS!

Farida was sitting with her mother, eating. After they finished, Farida cleared everything away and returned to her mother. She rested her head on her mother's lap as her mother called her name.

"Farida," she answered. Her mother stroked her head and said, "Farida, it's time you calmed down and stopped giving Farouq the runaround. I really like that boy; he's sensible and calm. But you keep playing hard to get. Remember what the Hausa say: when being aloof goes too far, it becomes a hindrance. So stop treating him the way you do, lest God tests you too. Look at him; he's like a white man, God bless him! Yet he's persistent and insists he only loves you. You yourself know that if he were interested in beauty, Farouq wouldn't have said he loved you. You know the truth; you and Farouq aren't even a match. He's far above you, but God has made him love you."

"Okay, Mother, God willing, I'll change my ways. But, honestly..."

"I don't want to hear any more talk," her mother said. "Change your ways! Change your ways! Change your ways!!!"

Farida said, "Okay, Mother, I won't do it again, God willing."

Her mother said, "Alright then, may God bless you."

After they finished talking, Farida said, "Mother, let me go take a bath."

Her mother said, "May you come out healthy. You just have a penchant for bathing."

Farida laughed and went to her room. After her bath, she dressed in a beautiful *atamfa* top and skirt. She applied a lot of lipstick. As expected of a BLACK WOMAN, her face didn't stand out much, despite the heavy lipstick. She smelled wonderful, as Farida loved to smell good. Even her skin smelled fragrant, whether she wore perfume or not. Her mother sometimes found it surprising, and other times, it baffled her.

After she returned to the parlor and sat down, her phone rang. She knew, without being told, that it was Farouq.

Her mother looked at her and said, "Aren't you going to answer the phone, or what?"

Farida said, "No, Mother, I will answer." Her mother said, "Your aloofness suits you."

She picked up the phone. This time, it was easier because she had softened her stance. She greeted him, and he told her he was at her house. She told him to come in, as her father had forbidden her from going to the gate. After they finished talking, she ended the call. Her mother said, "So, you're going to show him your black attitude now."

Farida laughed and said, "Oh, Mother, it's not me with the black attitude; you know that."

Her mother said, "But you're showing Farouq your black attitude." Farida said, "Oh, Mother, I won't do it again."

Her mother went to her room.
