Chapter 2 of 2
They stopped in front of a large white gate decorated with golden designs. RK let out a deep breath while admiring the house.
“So she’s from a wealthy family after all,” he thought. “This place truly deserves to be called a mansion.”
Maanal getting out of the car snapped him out of his thoughts. He quickly got out as well. As she tried to open the trunk, he hurried to take down her suitcase for her. He then turned to help with Neesa’s luggage, but Neesa quickly grabbed her own bag. By then, Aneesa and the others had already understood what Maanal intended to do, so they all stepped out.
Zezaah tried to speak to her, but Maanal shot her a look that clearly meant, “Stay out of this.” She pulled her suitcase and started walking ahead. After taking a few steps, she turned back and looked at RK, who stood there like a statue.
Behind her glasses, she slowly blinked and said,
“Thank you for your effort. May Allah reward the bond between us. But please forgive me and stop stressing yourself. Just as I told you from the beginning, the truth is still the same. May Allah grant us something better.”
Before he could react, she had already gone inside the house.
He hurried forward as if to follow her, but the security guard standing inside immediately blocked his path. RK had no choice but to stop, placing a hand on his forehead as he let out a heavy sigh.
